You Made It Out

dear c.lynn,

it’s been two years my girl and look at that, you made it out of the darkness. this picture presents full of joy, because I don’t think you know how to be any other way with the world; but I know that you were pretty sad. you picked up your life, voluntarily of course, moved to a new place, with no job and a retirement check — things proved more difficult than you thought they’d be. a bit more overwhelming than you were ready for. you lived in a bliss of ignorance until you couldn’t. shxt hit the fan and you didn’t know how you’d make it out. God proved to be faithful, but you weren’t. I don’t think you believed in yourself, which is unfortunate. but eventually you got it together; you accepted where you were so that you could grow from that place. you cried out to God for help because you didn’t want to feel helpless anymore. & though it’s only been two years, you’re nothing like the person you were in 2018 — thank God for that! I thank God for you. You did it girl, you made it and you’re consistently making it. May God continue to bless 🙏🏾
